Here are some things you can do to keep your computer running smoothly and have safe web browsing:
Use spyware programs – some can actually put spyware on your computer. Good ones are: Spybot Search and Destroy: Ad Aware: You should run these programs weekly to get rid of spyware. |
Use a good antivirus program and software firewall. Mcafee Security Suite: Norton Security Suite: AVG Antivirus: free version Run your antivirus program weekly. |
Use McAfee Site Advisor. This is available for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. It shows you a safety rating for each site that comes up on an internet search

Keep your operating system and application software updates current. Only flash the BIOS if there is need for it. |
